Scope, Purpose, Audience

1. Purpose
- Bring awareness to the true crisis; bring meaning and knowledge to the "mathematical education crisis", then bring more breadth by speaking with pro math reformers, and come up with the solution

2. Audience
- Readers: only know the superficial
- They know there is a crisis, but not what it's all about
- I think the audience will be most surprised by the proven potential of our children's mind
- I need statistics from math enrichment programs, like RSM
- They might think that they are doing the best by their children by living in a "good school system" like Newton
- I want to inform my readers on the distinct potential of the young mind and persuade them to join me in fighting for tangible change

3. Length and Scope
- Some library, but mostly survey of math educators, and fieldwork of observing classes
- I think the most effective way to inform is to do a "KONY 2012" style video montage of interviews and snip its of classrooms; have as many proofs of success so that EVERYONE feels obligated to do more for the sake of the children's future
